On Monday, Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold enters his name into the transfer portal.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound sophomore quarterback will leave the Sooners after two seasons. Arnold will have two years of eligibility at his next school. During high school, Arnold was rated as a five-star recruit and the number one recruit in Texas for the class of 2023. He ended up choosing the Sooners over schools like Alabama, Florida, LSU, Notre Dame, and Ohio State.
To start his college career, he was backing up Dillon Gabriel during Oklahoma's final season in the Big 12. Only got 563 passing yards and four passing touchdowns in limited action during the 2023-24 season. Now Jackson Arnold has his chance to be the starting quarterback as Dillon Gabriel transferred to Oregon. Was also time for the Sooners to start in a new conference. His stats were not the prettiest, but he helped the Sooners be bowl eligible in their first season in the SEC. He ended the season with 1,421 passing yards, completing 63% of his passes, and had 16 passing touchdowns.
Arnold will receive major interest in the portal and will have his chance to prove himself in a new location.
