The 6-foot-3, 210-pound junior wide receiver leaves Lexington after being in blue & white for three seasons. The Lexington kid was a four-star recruit in the class of 2022. Key chose the Cats over schools like Michigan, South Carolina, and Louisville.

The 2022-23 season was the start of success as Key had 37 receptions for 519 yards and six touchdowns. As his role increased, his stats went up. During the 2023-24 season, Key had 42 receptions for 636 yards and six touchdowns. And finally, during his third season with the Cats, Key had 47 receptions for 715 yards and two touchdowns.

Dane Key leaves Lexington with a career stat line of 126 receptions for 1,870 yards and 14 touchdowns. The star receiver should have major interest in the transfer portal.
