A new season of College Football is almost here. With a new season comes an opportunity to have a little extra change in your pocket.
In the coming weeks leading up to kickoff on August 26, I will go from conference to conference sharing my preseason win total bets that are worth putting some coin on.
For this edition of Brendan’s Best Bets, we are taking a look at Pac-12 preseason win totals. Odds are provided by FanDuel Sportsbook.
Oregon Under 9.5 Wins (-122)
Oregon is certainly a talented team. However, there are still some question marks in Dan Lanning’s second season. Lanning brings in a new offensive coordinator after Kenny Dillingham took the Arizona State job. While I don’t doubt that the Oregon offense will be good, I do think it will take a slight step back this year even with QB Bo Nix returning.
The schedule features a Week 2 road trip at Texas Tech and road games at Washington and at Utah in conference play. The Ducks also play USC and Oregon State, but they get those games at home. Those are all losable games and I think Oregon falls short of 10 regular season wins.
Washington Under 9.5 Wins (-142)
Washington is getting a lot of preseason hype. They do have a great quarterback in Michael Penix Jr. The Huskies have a trio of great receivers as well. The thing that worries me with Washington is the defense. The pass defense was shaky throughout the season.
This year, the schedule gets much tougher as they have to play at USC and Utah. Those two games are in back-to-back weeks. Washington also plays Oregon and at Oregon State. If the defense doesn’t improve, this team might take a step back this season with the harder schedule.
To recap, here are the bets we are making:
Oregon Under 9.5 Wins (-122)
Washington Under 9.5 Wins (-142)
